This postnatal yoga routine from yoga teacher Hannah Barrett aka Yoga Girl London takes 40 minutes and will help you to strengthen those parts of the body that after having a baby might need some TLC
Hannah Barrett is a London-based yoga teacher with a passion for helping people transform their lives through yoga. She is also a pregnancy yoga specialist.
In this 40 minute yoga sequence, Hannah talks you through a post natal yoga flow session that will help you find your inner strength and strengthen those parts of the body that after having a baby might need some TLC.
Joined by her friend and physiotherapist, Finola Burrell who will show you the modifying version of the sequence, you can do this flow once you’ve had your six weeks sign off from your doctor. Start with Finola’s version and then work up gradually to Hannah’s.
You’ll start on your back practicing your breathing, then gently move into the practice with a gentle warm up before flowing into the sequence of more challenging standing poses, forward bends, twists and backbends.
Yoga has given Hannah the tools she needs to thrive and feel strong in her everyday life, especially during her pregnancies.
The way yoga has supported Hannah in her journey through motherhood has encouraged her to share what she’s learnt, and helping women in pregnancy and postpartum has become her vocation.
Hannah’s aim is to share the incredible benefits of yoga with as many people as possible through her classes and her postnatal, yoga-inspired ebook Strength Through Yoga.
As the resident yoga teacher on the new Healthista Collective, Hannah will be bringing you regular yoga practices to help different conditions.
