From shampoo, body wash and toothpaste to deodorant, face creams and hair products – every day we expose ourselves to around 126 different chemicals through grooming products.
These chemicals are able enter our bodies and bloodstream through our skin.
That’s why Healthista is dedicating its full attention to Anti-Ageing April – a time to focus and provide some TLC to our much loved skin through the use of beauty products created with all natural ingredients.

Our first Anti-Ageing April video is how to make a Green Tea Facial Toner from just three ingredients – honey, green tea and of course apple cider vinegar.
We would love you all to create these homemade products yourself and let us know how you got on by tagging #antiageingapril #HealthistaTV #dermalhealth on Instagram.
Glow: Green Tea Facial Toner with Apple Cider Vinegar
Turns out vinegar isn’t just for your fish and chip dinner…
It helps to cleanse the scalp, rejuvenate damaged skin, balance skin pH and create skin harmony with its antibacterial and anti fungal properties.
Common conditions like dry skin, acne and eczema can be treated with apple cider vinegar. Due to the skin being naturally acidic, the pH level becomes rebalanced when applying the product and acts as a barrier for the skin.
Vinegars range from five to 20 per cent acidity making them a safe mild to moderate choice when using it on your own skin at home.

You can expect your skin to feel smoother, pores tighter and complexion more dewy due to its astringent, exfoliating abilities on our skin. It’s also rejuvenating for the skin as it is packed with natural antioxidants.
The solution also has antibacterial properties which can kill bacteria and prevent further breakouts and skin conditions.
Dilution ratio is crucial though to ensure you do not burn your skin, be sure to follow Una’s steps exactly, in order to make a fantastic natural product that’s also safe for your skin.
Vinegar is a cheaper alternative for a skin pick me up, however although it is mild in comparison to professional chemical peels it is still a must to wear sun protection during the day, regardless of the weather.
Never apply undiluted apple cider vinegar to the skin as it can cause harm. Always speak to a professional, especially if you have damaged skin.
